If you'd rather explore the woods on foot, plenty of trailheads are within a short distance of most of the Mogollon Resort Cabins. Enjoy the fresh air and abundant wildlife of the Sitgreaves National Forest on one of many hiking trails in the area. See if you can spot an elk, white-tailed deer, red-tailed hawk, or even a bald eagle among the trees! Or, experience the dramatic views offered by the Mogollon Rim's drop of as much as 2,000 feet. Bring your off-road vehicle and explore the many exciting offroading trails that crisscross the region and offer incredible views of the Rim, mountains and forest.

In the winter months, cross-country skiing is a popular way to see all that the forest has to offer. Mogollon Resort Cabins are located just an hour away from some of Arizona's finest mountain skiing areas, as well. Great places for snowmobilling, sledding and snowball fights abound as well.

If you're looking for a more relaxing vacation activity, Mogollon Rim golf courses offer serene views and are a great way to relax away from the hot, arid desert of Phoenix and Tucson. Or, enjoy the peace and quiet of pristine Mogollon rim lakes by going fishing. From the nearby Woods Canyon Lake, WIllow Springs Lake, Black Canyon Lake, where you will find trout and catfish; to Show Low Lake, which boasts walleye, rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and catfish; your day on the lake will be just the escape you needed.
